How to Use Avian Escrow

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to establish and manage an escrow using Avian Escrow.

Step 1: Connect to Avian Labs Dashboard

To get started, connect to the Avian Labs dashboard using your preferred wallet. In this example, we’ll be using the Phantom wallet—a popular choice for interacting with the Solana Network.

Simply log in to the dashboard, and ensure your wallet is connected securely to proceed.

Step 2: Create a New Escrow

Once connected, navigate to the "Create Escrow" tab. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

• Enter the Project Title and Details: Clearly describe the project or service being contracted.

• Specify the Total Budget: Define the total amount that will be held in escrow.

• Input the Service Provider's Address: Ensure that the service provider has already connected to the platform using this address for added security.

• Enter the Project Milestones: Break down the project into specific milestones. Remember, the total of all milestone payments must match the total budget to proceed.

This structured approach not only helps in managing the project efficiently but also ensures that payments are made only upon completion of agreed-upon deliverables.

Step 3: Complete the Transaction

After entering all the necessary details, click on "Complete" to initiate the escrow.

You will need to approve the transaction in your Phantom wallet. This action will deduct the total budget and any associated escrow fees from your wallet.

Once the transaction is confirmed, you can view the details on Solana’s explorer, providing full transparency and a permanent record of the escrow terms and conditions.

Step 4: Manage Your Escrow

After setting up the escrow, managing it is straightforward. Return to the Avian Escrow dashboard and click on the "Beneficiary" tab to view all ongoing escrows where you are the beneficiary.

Release Payments

From the beneficiary tab, you can manage and release milestone payments as the project progresses. In our example, we’ve connected using the service provider’s account, allowing us to view payments as they are released.

Request Payment Release

Service providers also have the option to request the release of milestone payments. As the beneficiary, you’ll receive these requests and can choose to approve or reject them based on the completion of milestones.

When the final milestone payment is due, it will be released from the beneficiary’s account. To complete the process, click on the transaction link provided to view all the details on Solana's explorer.

Congratulations!

You’ve successfully completed an escrow transaction using Avian Escrow, whether as a beneficiary or a service provider. Once the escrow is finalized, it will move to the "Transaction History" section within the dashboard, where you can review all the details of the completed transaction.
